Whiteness is a hell of a drug.

This shit is being sold in a ‘hood beauty & barber supply store. In a Black ass mall. In Black ass PG County, Maryland.

Ugh, and you know this shit is pure poison that’s damage the skin of anyone who uses it.

I went to India a few years ago and in all of the shops I went into they had these kinds of ‘whitening’ products. But they were Garnier. Like, the same ‘beauty’ products as you could get anywhere else but they all were to make your skin whiter. Not cute.

I had a few friends in college who bleached their skin :(
Here’s a really awesome essay on skin bleaching and white supremacy.

Yep, this is horrible shit right there. And then don’t forget all the tanning products for white people to darken their skin. Granted, most of those products probably aren’t so damaging to the skin as the skin bleaching garbage, but the tanning process is. The beauty industry is all about making everybody feel that the skin looks better on the other end of the spectrum.

JUST BE WHO YOU ARE. Love your body! It’s the only one you’ve got.

“And then don’t forget all the tanning products for white people to darken their skin.”

Why do white people think this is the same thing? Shut that shit UP! It is NOT the same thing because of NOOOOOOO

it really isn’t the same thing. blacks bleaching their skin is a direct result of those who have held power over us for far too long telling us that the lighter you are, the better your chances for a good life and survival are, inherently turning us against each other, while they laugh to the bank. TANNING, however, comes from that weird side of shit, where other melanin deficient people recognize the beauty of PoC, and try their fucking damndest to look(and i use that word extremely loosely) like a PoC without any of the other subjugation. fake and over-tanning, to me, is like botox, butt enhancements, collagen, et-damn-cetera. skin bleaching is a manifestation of a self-hatred instilled by oppressors.

“good and evil are not abstract concepts but tangible forces he reckons with every day. In his life and…always felt the tension between the sacred and the profane, the darkness and the light.”

“You know what they say about Lucifer, right, before he was cast out?”

“Every angel has their specialty, and his was praise.”

“And he was exceptionally beautiful, Lucifer—as an angel, he was.”

This is probably going to get quoted in every publication just because I said it. And I’m not even saying anything. I’m not talking about my films, I’m not talking about my life, and I’m not talking about the world. And yet, the media will print it simply because I said it. And at this moment in time, I bet there is an artist around the corner of this hotel, on the street, with a mind far beyond ours, but we will never listen to him simply because he has not appeared in a movie. And that is what is fucked up about our culture.
